The first church meeting of 2012 is fast approaching. Please keep Wednesday 18th January clear in your diaries. There are a number of things to discuss, not least the future of our evening services. Even if you cannot attend, please give this issue some prayerful consideration as any decision is likely to really shape the way we worship here at Emmanuel in the future.

After a few days off for Christmas, I would like to wish everyone a very Happy New Year. It was really lovely to welcome Precious Gift into God’s family with a dedication on New Year’s Day, and I really hope that this celebratory tone is set in for the year ahead.
There are a few decisions to be made this year by the church leadership, and I hope you will join me in praying for that process and the people involved.

We are fast approaching the end of Advent, and with it comes our Carol Service and Christmas celebrations. Next Friday, December 16th is the day that the church is due to be decorated. We will be starting at 7.30pm and any help would be appreciated.

I have not had a chance to produce a new Advent mini-series for this year, but last year’s reflections are still online if you would like to have something which may help to give some focus to your thoughts at this very busy time.

We are now well into Advent, and this means that we have a number of special services coming up in the near future. As well as our Christmas Day service, we will be holding our Carol Service on the evening of December 18th. This service will start a little earlier than our regular evening ones, at 6.00pm. Please do put this date in your diaries as we would love to celebrate this festival with everyone.

This week’s service was due to be held by our friend from Whitton Baptist, Roger Lear. Unfortunately, Roger was involved in a car accident a few days ago and understandably feels he would like to take a few days to recuperate. We wish Roger all the best and hope is soon back to his usual energetic self.
